Construction company FAQs
Common questions from clients planning a build.
- What size of projects do you take on?
- We take on residential and light commercial projects, from individual extensions and refurbishments to new homes and small developments.
- Do you help before planning is granted?
- Yes. We can review proposals early to give buildability and budget feedback, which helps avoid designs that are expensive to build.
- What are the CDM Regulations?
- The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 set out duties for clients, designers and contractors to manage health and safety. On domestic projects, many of the client's duties pass to the contractor.
- Can you provide a new-home warranty?
- New homes are often sold with a structural warranty. Warranty providers inspect during construction, so it needs to be arranged before work starts; we'll work with the provider you choose.
- How do you manage costs?
- We price against a defined scope and report costs regularly. Variations are priced and approved before they go ahead.
- Do you work with developers?
- Yes. We offer build-only contracts and can work with your design team, quantity surveyor and employer's agent.
- How do you handle neighbours?
- We introduce ourselves before work starts, agree working hours, keep roads and pavements clean and give notice before noisy or disruptive work.
- Is basement work possible on my property?
- Many London homes can extend down, but basements involve underpinning, waterproofing and Party Wall matters, and some councils have specific policies. We'll review feasibility with your engineer.
- Is your company insured?
- Insurance certificates are provided on request as part of our quote or tender documents, before any contract is agreed.
